storytelling creates a deep and rich tapestry of connection … and so I share
while away last week, I kept my morning practice of waking early and dropping into body, breath, movement and meditation. the dates were a bit of a blur, days running into the next as I was very much embracing vaca mode and not worried with time or agendas.
one day later in the week, I was enjoying the quiet morning on the beach and this grey feather floated right to me. instantly and i mean instantly, my knowing was this “it’s Becky’s birthday” and I opened my phone to confirm it was the 10th. i spent the next few minutes just connecting to her spirit and loving on her and letting her know i know she’s with me, with all of us. and to keep sending me these messages of connection.
later that morning, miles and I were back on the beach just chatting, swimming and enjoying each others company. i told him it would have been Becky’s birthday and that tender heart let it be a moment too. i shared how one way we could celebrate is to ask her what she wants us to see today on her birthday and within a minute I shifted the sand and just under the surface was this whole tiny sand dollar. it was such a beautiful and exciting moment of connection that we all got to share.
I will add this, I have never found another whole sand dollar since one time as a kiddo and i’ve been exploring beaches on and off my whole life.
it was a moment for me. for us. some may try and rationalize the heart from it but those are not who this story is for.
