mother
mother: to bring up with care.
i love this time of year. the most obvious reason is these damn kids 😉 if you know me for a minute you know them too. being their mom is most def one of the highlights of my life and this holiday gets me up in my feels for that for sure and also …
people ask me often about pivotal moments in my storyline that helped set the trajectory and while I do believe mine has been built by a million micro moments, a slow roll evolution of growth and wellness, motherhood or the mere fact of becoming pregnant is one of the macros.
divine mother energy, the divine feminine has never spoken more loudly, screaming is more like it when i found out i was pregnant, “find yourself, and don’t abandon her.” it was so loud. so strong. and so felt. and for 14 years i’ve been mothering my weepy wounds, stumbling + loving myself to new + old versions of my truest heart too.
i have been mothered well by my mother lines. at some point in time the baton of mother is passed and often it is redirected only externally. womb wisdom reminds us to reclaim space for ourselves and to ourselves too. nurture + mother our own spirit too, in ways maybe only we know best, in an effort to continue compassionately growing and creating and communing and sharing and transmuting and transforming and and and …
the synchronicities of life light me up. while sitting with all of this, a woodpecker makes herself known, knocking loudly but today she lets me see her too. her medicine is on point .:: “Dr. Carl Jung observed the woodpecker as a symbol of a return to the womb of creativity. In this observation the tree is symbolic of a womb; earthy, grounded, sturdy and secure. the woodpecker’s home within the tree is analogous of a fierce determination to return and protect that which is sacred to us. when this bird comes pecking, it is a call for us to return to our roots, back to the womb of our ideas and use our intellect and discernment to follow through with our plans.”
so i’ll wrap this long ass ramble with an intention and invitation to anyone who wishes to receive it, may we all continue to mother, to bring up with care our own hearts too + all that shares a part of it 💗
