sharing stories.

twice in a matter of a couple weeks i have had a conversation with two very different people in two very different life experiences about how being able to communicate well is such a gift - patting them on the back for their gifts.

I was a pretty shy kiddo in elementary school. barely remember middle school. high school my mom sure likes to remind me that I was most critiqued for being social, talking too much.

I went on to major in communications. and have ended up building my work around this ability to hold safe space for people through both verbal and non verbal communication.

it has served me well.

these two varied experiences in the last couple weeks were messengers to me. a remembering of this gift of connection.

I don’t really like small talk much.

it’s the deeply authentic who are we really, what’s feeding our soul or what’s heavy on our heart that needs the soft and steady landing spot most.

this week one of those convos with a stranger then led me to a deeper understanding of family, a reminder of resiliency through illness and to a kitchen sink full of blueberries.

sharing stories with heart is one way we can heal our world. quite literally our voice and the vibration it offers stimulates the vagus nerve which plays an important role in a healing journey. of course how we use it matters. and equally important in communication is the ability to listen and hear other people’s expression too.

may today you find yourself in a story as sweet as this one was to me.
