folding in.

folding in.

lean in with me for a minute.

I recently experienced a moment that was really moving for me. I was so uber present to its existence it had a profound reverb.

It reminded me again why these practices are so transformational.

my body has been doing some interesting things recently. and as most of you know I’m in the biz of paying close attention to her.

and this time i was witness to my own folding and unfolding, literally, in the moment.

I sat in a trusted space and allowed a hefty worth of weight to roll off my tongue. as it was rolling my body was following.

leaning in.

folding in.

in to myself and the fullness of that moment.

I did not resist it even tho the release felt incredibly vulnerable.

my body was ushering me forward.

to fold.

all in.

once the words were done there was a moment of meditation.  In that stillness, the tears just gently washed my face and my spirit. Naturally, in some time my spine began to straighten and my heart began to lift. My breath, returned to my belly with ease.

Afterward it made me think about how often we resist this folding in. How often we force ourselves into a straight and narrow shape as if it’s the only  expression of strength or power. How often we stunt the process of our becoming.  my god, in a given day, hour, minute think of all the redirect of energy.

Don’t get me wrong, i am a fan of a nice long spine and finding true and authentic alignment and yet, how do we know what that is if we don’t allow ourselves the full range movement of becoming. of experiencing what is truly alive in us. And is it authentic anyway if we are resisting or shutting down another part of who we are.

I invite you to notice your body’s experience and wisdom.  Don’t rush it into a rigid idea of what is supposed to be true.

lean in.

fold in even.

and allow it to finish its expression of being and see if it doesn’t on its own accord and in its own true time come most beautifully alive.

In my experience it’s another reason why yoga can be such healing guide :.. a well rounded practice allows our completion circuits in our brain and body to exist. to complete the full cycle. a full inhale. a full exhale. movement to the edge of expansion and back again to center.  #sigh

may this invitation find you safely held for your own folding and unfolding into your own beautiful becoming.
